I think I remember Uwe with a 3 pup gold hardware 'Bird that was an original and a one-off, iirc, but for the age of this one those pups should be three screw fixings to be original...? Also the mix-and-match parts are a questionable feature...?

Yeah, I sold my 3PUP TBird stamped Prototype to Uwe....actually a Thunderbird VII, named after the Firebird 3 PUP model. The prototype was black with black PUPs and black hardware...and a Firebird stamped Pearl pickguard.  The actual run of six of them were white ones and red ones, with gold two screw PUPs. Originally done in 1990-91.

The one on EBAY HAD BEEN MODDED BTW.

Pic of my/Uwe black one FYI

No kidding! Gibson may have lax QC, but they do at least line up control knob holes and space pickups parallel and evenly. I can't believe that someone dropped that kind of money on something that is OBVIOUSLY not what it claims to be.

I'd like a three pickup TBird, but I'd want the third pickup much closer to the neck like on Uwe's BFG Les Paul.
