Advice on Gibson IV bass

This thing popped up on FleaBay. I've always liked the look of natural IVs but this one was damaged in shipment and the guy is reselling it. I don't think the damage looks too bad and seems repairable.
Thoughts?

The drummer from my first band once sold something on EBAY and Billy Gibbons ended up being the buyer.

Can't really know just how bad it is until you can physically hold it and inspect it but I think it could be rehabbed to a serviceable bass.  We've certainly seem much, much worse brought back from the brink here.  If the price stays reasonable I think it's worth it - I just wouldn't pay more than $150 or so on it because it is somewhat of a risk.

It's salvageable but I'd pass. These basses don't sell for much even in top shape and you would need a knowledgeable repairman to do it right. You'd probably end up with a repaired bass that would probably be worth less than the cost of repair.

If it came cheap enough, I'd just keep pumping water-thin cyanoacrylate into the cracks and let capillary action do its stuff.

If those pictured cracks are all, it's fixable with future stability. The bass itself is a nice sound provider if you can get over the less than stunning look though the natural brown ones are the best-looking of the batch.

If it doesn't go higher than US-$ 150 and you always wanted to have one of those, it could be a worthy reanimation.

That is high when considerung that the collector value of these is zilch.
