Flash thought: These guys will be doing a lot of unplugged in the living room. With electronic ankle bands.

They share all their vile characteristics, but sell cheaper thus endangering our youth through sheer abundant availability!!! A scourge, yet nobody does anything about it.

Stadium rock bands don't do that. They are too scared of their managers finding out demanding a cut.

Robert Plant and Jimmy Page (drummer and bassist of Deep Purple, Jake!)

True!!!!

Peter Grant would have made a franchise out of it. He's the former manager of Led Zeppelin, Jake.

The way you keep working Zep into every topic makes me wonder, Uwe.

I have my pet subjects! And it is all connected anyway. Robert Plant and Jimmy Page (drummer and bassist of Deep Purple, Jake!) saw the Sex Pistols live and liked them. As did Rory Gallagher, so much he disbanded his band thereafter and binned a whole album ("Notes from San Francisco"). Even Ian Anderson (singer of Yes, Jethro Tull) liked them. The "us against them" was hyped by the press at the time.

A classic quote of the time was by Jimmy Page in the NME who when asked whether the Sex Pistols concert he saw and liked reminded him of his Yardbirds days of yore: "No, they reminded of the Led Zeppelin rehearsal we had just before Robert and I slipped away to see them!" Zep were at the time practicing Presence tracks to take on the road.

Ah, such shattered illusions and preconceptions!

I can't even tell what you're doing anymore; are you trolling or just old?  :P

Hey! I resemble that remark!  (For Uwe's benefit: Three Stooges reference.)

Dave, even when the levee breaks, don't always put yourself at the center of things!
