32" Star Bass
« on: November 20, 2013, 09:31:25 AM »
And yes. Of course I have to bring you some Warwick fun;)

I got a Chinese Rockbass by Warwick in. A Star Bass. 'Mine' is gold, but with chrome hardware, which looks better than gold on gold like on the previous Korean Warwick Star Bass.

It's cheaper than the Korean one, better quality than some of the Korean ones and it sounds awesome. Great combination of a fat, woody sound, but never muddy and always with a growl for the neck pickup. The bridge pickup is P-ish. This one's 32", while the 5-string (and the discontinued Korean 4/5) is 34".

I have a gold one to review. Here's a Daphne:

Oh my, a white one!  I have such a weakness for white basses and I don't own one.  That would be tempting.

I've got a Korean Pro Series Star.  I swapped out the black knobs for Warwick chrome ones from a German Star.  Much better look IMHO.

That looks cool.  Is there a single pickup version?

Any lingering thoughts on Warwick Star Basses? I've found somebody selling a Rockbass version and half tempted to take a punt at it.

Somebody has come out the woodwork and offered me a Mustang, so I guess I will never know what I want to know.

They Star basses look pretty great, and the demo videos make them sound pretty modern if anything.
