New Thunderbird?
« on: October 22, 2013, 06:55:39 PM »
This pic just showed up on Gibson's facebook page.

Anybody know if this is a new Thunderbird model?
At first I thought it was a 50th anni., but the pickups don't jive.
How about that finish? Limed Mahogany?

Ok sorry if I got anyone excited but this looks like a TV silver epiphone T-bird. Carry on.

At least it has some CHROME parts on it!  :P

Looks like they're pulling parts out of the Epiphone bin tho.

.... and black plastic pup rings on a TBird just seems wrong to me (unless black pups/hardware, then maybe) - looks cheap.  Love the finish colour tho.

That Epi has been around for at least a year. Never saw one in person but I liked the pic's I have seen. Hope it has a better finish than the current Epi's in pelham blue.

The finish doesn't look nearly as patchy as the TV Pelham blue ones. I like the elitist look with the pickups and the chrome compliments the finish. This has a bolt on neck according to the Epi website.

Looks like the Epi "LE Custom Shop" from a couple years back. I have one of the white ones with the chrome hardware. I did switch to chrome pickup rings, and it does change the whole vibe of the bass. Must be my inner Jackie Fox... From the pic, it looks as though that one has the "big" Epi neck, which has been supplanted on newer ETBs I've seen with a 1.5" nut width version.

Hey gus, your argument is sillly, because the correct answer is NICKEL 4 EVA!

And when did Uwe go goth/emo anyway? ... and why the hell is he reading what appears to be a Canadian model train forum?
