"Ed Friedland Signature" Egmond B2V Typhoon on eBay
« on: January 27, 2013, 12:14:56 PM »
Just like Ed's "Fabulous Egmond". Looks like it's in excellent condition. $2.5K BIN... yeah right... But the pics are great.

Here is Ed's

http://www.edfriedland.com/equipment/1/10

If they were still $300-400 I'd probably want one.

All of that seller's prices are insane. He also has an Ampeg Devil Bass listed at $19,500! He's the same guy that had the white 60's Reverse Tbird on ebay last year. I can't remember the exact price but wasn't it like $24,000?

Fascinating finish... is that an applied film...?

Crazy price. Last one I saw was priced at something like $350.

If I remember Ed's description, the covering was contact paper, not vinyl. But he loves the sound of the pickups.

Egmond guitars and basses were crap.
Really, no matter how "dodgy vintagy surf" they may look.
Their guitars are only good to cut eggs with  ;)

Couldn't agree more! Even in the quite early 60's, Egmonds were considered Crap, with capitol C.

And that was not when compared to the Gibsons or Fenders, cause such basses and guitars was quite hard to find in northern Sweden. The comparision was with Hofners, Kliras and Hagströms. The Egmonds were absolute shite! (But we all know that, this here thread is - as we all understand - about the niceness of old stuff, colours and... und so weiter)

I know they are considered crap, but was always curious about Ed Friedland's blue Egmond. He seems to like it a lot.

Right. Ed made it clear that he thought the bass was crappy, but he really liked the sound for a particular band he was in.
