No reason they shouldn't be, really. There are no secret ingredients in a genuine Ric. Legal issues aside, if you build it properly, you should get a decent bass.

Careful what you wish for, I've read many times where Peter Hook had one and he calls it absolute shite.
I had an Electra 4001 copy and it was too.

The neck through body copies were all nicely made basses.  I've got no comment regarding the bolt on neck versions.   :mrgreen:
