I just hit this beauty on evilbay ...

Finish on it looks great (and still intact!).  Love to hear your impressions of the mystery pickup sound once you get acquainted.

It plays great.  When it arrived the action was a bit buzzy (probably due to climate change en route to the southern winter), and all it took me was half a turn on each of the two bridge screws and the action is now perfect.   Sound wise, it is very much as demonstrated by Bruce Johnson's audio sample on his website - totally unusable with the tone control opened up (nasal honk), but with the tone rolled off it is lovely, warm and fat.
