Cool book.

Half a year ago I mailed Andy to ask him one Stones-gear fact for an article in Musicmaker. Just about one guitar on one song.
'Buy the book within half a year, he said.'

I asked him again and offered to talk about the coming book in the article. Could be nice for them I thought.
'Buy the book,' he answered.

I wrote in the article the autors of this book are a bit childish.

It's too bad that he wouldn't cooperate. That kind of attitude will backfire.

Unfortunately, Andy and the band claim to have been ripped off in some past record deals and other dealings, so maybe he has developed a myopic, cynical view of the music business.   One has to be careful about one's attitude when the public is involved.  I like Andy, he's a great guy and my dealings with him have always been great.  I'm sorry he didn't help you out.

Yeah, one bad mail exchange doesn't mean he's a bad guy. That isn't my attitude to people. As I said I will buy the book and wish them all the best!

It's just business.

Part of business is relationship building with key constituents who can help your business efforts. Charging for everything doesn't always result in more income.  He's a good egg for the most part, but I wouldn't have done what he did.
