"Life is life" - the final version of the song was a huge European hit in the late eighties for Austrian proggies Opus.

Right, it was a one off hit for a band that usually played prog music (you can hear the prog influence in the way the synth layers are put even in that song) and only played Life is life as an encore at their concerts for their devoted few and it grew into a hit by word of mouth from there. Which is why they were never able to repeat the exercise. But it did give them an opening slot on a US tour of Stevie Nicks.

Slovenian art rockers Laibach did their own version - as usual playing with fascist taboo visuals (now there is another band Rammstein copped off a lot!).

They do their "Nazi treatment" to a lot of cover songs, remember this one?
