So...it was the Shiner Bock that made you do it! Wonder how things would have turned out if you'd had a 6-pack of Dos Equis?

And all this time I assumed this was your "Tragical History Tour" bass.  ;D  But then the street sign would have to say "Denny Lane,", right.  ;)

Speaking of that...if I didn't already know your Penny Lane story, I would ask you where the street sign in that photo came from. But you've showed the pic several times on different boards, and nobody ever asks. Guess nobody else is curious.  :-\

This is my "Tragical History Tour" bass, used in my Rutles tribute band(which just got a mention in a BBC special on "Rutland/The Rutles)

Bit of the BBC special:

I guess my "Penny Lane story" is, when my wife and I got married 5 years ago we moved into Abbey Road Apartments on Penny Lane in Austin,Texas.

I didn't realize you had so many Ouch! videos up. Last time I looked there were only 2 or 3. Cool that you got that mention on the BBC, but he could have at least said the band's name.

Hey! I was just nosing around MySpace and saw the baby pics -- congratulations Daddy (and Mommy)! The baby-with-Rick pic is great.

Thx,

TD

Please keep your eyes open for my stolen 1973 Burgundyglo Rickenbacker 4001 Serial # MD1582. It was stolen in November of 2006. Reward for its return. Thx!

Ouch. Sorry to hear that. I'll keep an eye open for this one when Ebay'ing. You gave it a ScratchX/Zymol treatment before the picture?

The Azureglo w/checkerboard is absolutely gorgeous. That's my ultimate dream bass.

Is there even such a thing as a Penny Lane in Liverpool or London? I just knew of people swiping the Abbey Road sign.

Just saw this and I don't think it was answered... Yes, there is a Penny Lane in Liverpool. It's been so long I can't remember the bus I took to get there but the barber shop is right there too!

Thanks! My all-time favorite Ric color. Especially when it's not too bright and not too purple-ish.

I vaguely recall reading somewhere that a blue VW microbus was parked near the RIC factory in Santa Ana and they liked the color and copied it.

Imagine what would have happened if this was parked across the street:

I think the minibus is not the right color. It is more towards this

It is volkswagen color L360, Sea Blue . Is is not a coincidence I have 2 Rick's in this color. It is my favorite too. :)

Thanks! My all-time favorite Ric color.

And since that makes 2 of us I can just as well post more pictures of my other AZG.

Imagine what would have happened if this was parked across the street:

Makes me pine for my Tequilabird...
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...
