I've steadfastly ignored both bands for over four decades, except to laugh when Jethro Tull got a Grammy for heavy metal. The committee must have been mesmerized by that heavy metal flute work.  :mrgreen:

Yeah, that didn't quite jibe with my recollection of their music.

That was back in the days before Metallica had enough money to buy themselves the "respectability" they now enjoy, and the Grammy committee was faced with the prospect of handing the award over to a bunch of pimply-faced, leather-clad headbangers, so they did the only thing they could and handed it over to Jethro Tull.
