Happy Thanksgiving all you Pilgrim descendants! And whatever else was flooded on your shores subsequently.

Dave, so you like your girls furry and a little on the plump side? You really should get out more!

Jody. And we do get out, we just got back from a mile walk.  ;D

Not bad for a senior and his senior dog.  :P

I just gave both dogs baths...so they won't distract from the positive ambience of the kitchen.  Here's a quick cell phone photo of them drying on the cough.  (Boomer on the left, Max on the right.)

The smoker is warming up and turkey goes on in about 20 minutes....will smoke it for 5@ hours and pull it off about 4:00 this afternoon.

I have settled into my Thanksgiving day routine - typing on my laptop while watching Packers pre-game.  Go, PACK!!

Thanks!

Here's the smoker at work.

There was a bush here, inside a boundary of railroad ties.  I pulled the bush out and put in pavers to park the smoker on - this separated it safely from other bushes.  The bush on the left is more than two feet from the smoker. That thing stays a hot a long time while it's in use.

My daughter ate some non-meat item. Not Tofurkey tho. She wasn't too crazy about that. I ate enough turkey for both of us.  ;D

I ate too much of the real deal.  One of the things that washed up here was a guy from Cape Verde that I knew way back.  He wasn't exactly literate, and assumed that if there were a holiday it had to be for a political figure or a religious reason.  Everyone kept saying something he didn't understand on this find day, and he thought we were celebrating the feast of Saint Skeebbing.  So I wish you all HAPPY SAINT SKEEBBING!

Did you tell him the story of how St. Skeebing was trussed up, basted and roasted by infidels?

Not to mention the process of stuffing!

"The process of stuffing ..." - sigh, can't we even have a Thanksgiving thread without someone blowing Fräulein Rommel's horn?

Somehow I'm sure he would approve ;)  That is if he survived meeting his GFs family :o

"GFs" - a new unknown acronym to me. What does it stand for?
