I recieved an answer from Walter Carter first thing this morning on how many 20/20's he thought were produced................... His response............

"My guess would be a dozen or so. I think I’ve only seen two."

I was guessing more like 200, it might be one of the rarest Gibson Basses due to it's unique style!
I know of five or six including the three on this board. Here is a picture of it next to it's equally odd partner, the 1985 Gibson Futura.

I Just came in second best again on a bid for two pickups, sold together for a pair of guitars that I have.

I don't think anybody else has both of these. (Most likely by poular demand) & I believe the buyer thinks that they are for an RD Artist bass. I contacked the seller & gave him the info I had, then decided to bid on them..........coincidence, I think not!

I saw those and was going to send him a link to Jules site showing them on a 20/20, but then I forgot when I got home from work. Getting old sucks........... :-\

He wasn't that far off. The 20/20 pups with the Gibson logo are either identical with or a development from the RD Artist pups without the Gibson logo. They certainly sound similar.

They must have used the same plastic cover for many different pickups. I would have never guessed the one was for the Futura, but after googling the part number, a couple posts popped up with the part number for the Futura pickups. My newest parts book is 1981, so I have no reference to anything newer than that. It did have the RD Artist pickup part numbers...........
