Ditto!
It takes a very deep-rooted opinion to survive unexpressed

Guys it has been very crazy here, interviews, work more interviews, our daughter is having some trouble. It has been tough just to get up, pickguards have been low on the priority list. I will get to them just not as soon as I hoped.

No problem Scott. We waited for the birds, we can wait a little longer for the guards. I hope you get it all worked out. Best wishes to you and your family.

Yeah man, that looks awesome!
I was planning on doing that too when I got some extra funds.
Who knows when that will be though  :-[

BUMP

When the first batch of BaCHbirds arrived I had a few pickguards made for a few fellow Dutch BaCHbirds owners.
I had the pickguard made from the stuff that you find on camping tables, sort of formica. Because I didn't like the standard three layer pickguard material, cause I thought it would look too thick.
After the pickuards were cut out I had them screen printed with a bird. But the ink wouldn't adhere. I rubbed it off with my fingers and the BaCHbird remained birdless.

But today I had a new pickguard made for a guy who is going to customize his BacHbird with two DarkStars. Just like that guy from Motorpsycho.
This time using the standard three layer stuff.
So I had one extra made for myself as well, because you can get two out of one plate. I askd the guy with the cnc machine to cut out the bird with a very thin router. And to keep it very shallow. So the middle black layer wouldn't be revealed.

Here's a close up of the engraved bird

Now comes the fun part! I took my son's paint kit. Brushed some acrylic black paint into the engraving.
And immediately wiped off the surplus.

Et voila! My new pickguard with self made bird-logo.
This one will never rub off  8)

Can't believe how simple this was!

Your pickguards are wonderful Scott!  Finally have my BachBird wired up.  I decided to use the witch hat type knobs.

I experimented with laser etching and it worked pretty good. I went down to the black middle layer but it came out slightly brown (burned) it looked pretty good but up close it didn't pass muster so I abandoned that idea, never thought to fill it.

What about the pseudo CNC thing that Sears sales?  Comucarve?  It's pricey and I've always thought it was cheesy but it may work in this instance.  I wouldn't pay for one new but you might find one used

I would have to sell a lot of guards to make it worth while.

My pickguard is in! It came two days ago. Still had to pay the postman some money, but I don't mind. I'll install it this weekend! Pics will follow.
