That's a seller in Italy, he always has Rics and other cool stuff on eBay but the prices are never cheap.

Non-Glueburst 1972 4001 MG - all the goodies - and the battle scars only make her more attractive IMHO.

Dave, I vividly remember back in the late 80's and through to the mid 90's that RIC couldn't sell their solid colour (White, Black, Red, M.Blue, MG) 4003S basses with black binding and black hardware on them. Stores that had ordered them for inventory ended up having them for years cause no one would buy them. I bet if JH put them back into production today he'd sell everyone they could make. Just goes to show how times and markets change.

Please keep your eyes open for my stolen 1973 Burgundyglo Rickenbacker 4001 Serial # MD1582. It was stolen in November of 2006. Reward for its return. Thx!

That's true, some of them sat for years. especially the red with black trim.

I've mentioned once here that I passed on a 4003 MG with black trim that was $500 at Guitar Center about 15 years ago, well before used prices started to rise. Probably could have gotten it for less. I had the money, just didn't need another 4003. D'oh!

'99 S/5 MapleGlo. $4,195 BIN price - a bit unrealistic. Still, very pretty. TONS of hi-res pics on the eBay page.

I really don't understand why a Guitar Center special Shadow is worth more than a Tuxedo or even a far better looking Blackstar.  The stink of Guitar Center will forever keep me from paying a stupid amount for a Shadow.
