i had a 'turd burst' fender p bass once. it was a fine bass but i sold it because i could not stand to look at it anymore. :P

Crazy but true.

I guess a properly aged turdburst finish is hard to find.

That would be a nice body with a nitro refin.  Looks like crap at present.  So I'm a curmudgeon...don't like beat up finishes, never have.

That look is fine for those who like them, more power to you, but I'm not in that group.  I refin'd my '63 P in 1972, and I can't say I regret it.  The finish was all chipped up, and I hated that.
