Couple of interesting Rics on the 'Bay
« on: January 23, 2009, 04:46:28 PM »
A refin'ed 1980 set-neck and an '88 neck-thru 4003S Jetglo... A stunning five-string '97 Fireglo 4003S/5... An '88 Mapleglo 8-string 4003S/8 with body wing delamination... And an '86 Silver/BT...

The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

Love the 80 4003S. It's almost sure to end above my budget.

The last new RIC that I bought was a Jetglo 4003S/5 in 2000. It was the worst bass that I ever owned. It quickly developed a number of issues (that I won't get into) that were so bad, it was returned to the factory and they determined it was not repairable so they offered to replace it with another new one in a different colour. I told them no thanks and the store returned all of my money in full. It also took them almost a year to determine that it was unrepairable before they made the offer to replace it.

Please keep your eyes open for my stolen 1973 Burgundyglo Rickenbacker 4001 Serial # MD1582. It was stolen in November of 2006. Reward for its return. Thx!
