I assembled the Acoustic stack today to see it all in one place. I would love to fire it all up together but apartment living doesn't allow for that.  :P

Somehow, I suspect, that idea might not endear you to the remainder of the residents within a few blocks... ;)

Latest addition, '68 B-115 extension cab w/original (reconed) speaker and dolly.  Just took it apart for cleanup and refurb.  Paired with  my B-1, 100 watts seems just about right.

My first real amp after a Silvertone 2-12 piggyback was a '64 B-18N.  I played my '60 EBO thru it before I put the bridge pickup in it.  Now that was MUD!

My ears have been happy with this combination for months:

How do you like the KT88s in there - originally those are EL34-based right?  My SessionMan is EL34 (6CA7) based and have been wondering if I switch to KT88s or JJ E34L [sic] at the next tube change. The KTs will give me a bit more power, but power ain't everything.

Sorry, GG! I need to post a picture of the front so it would be apparent that this is actually a Reeves. It's in the spirit of, but not an actual HiWatt. I haven't played an all-tube amp since the 70's so my ears are still re-acquainting themselves to the sounds of tubes. I'm still in 'honeymoon' mode - totally infatuated with the beautiful tones. The stock output tube in this (Custom 225) is the KT-88 and I've never played through anything with EL34's, so I have no answer for your question, sorry. I completely agree with your "power ain't everything" belief. I don't need all of the power this can deliver. I invested in it to experience the tone and am glad I did.  :)

Here's mine...bass is shown before I swapped the bridge for a Supertone.  (I only just noticed that.)

Sounds pretty lively whatever bass I run through it.  I run the bass into a Sansamp BDDI into the effect return on the Ashdown.  Before year end, I'll be upping the rack to a 4U, dumping the Sansamp BDDI and adding a VT Bass rack unit.
P

The future I come from no longer exists.

I love those Hydrive cabs.  I used one for the last 2 years in my old band.
