GC Manhattan ought to know better than that. This isn't a parts bass where they might possibly claim they were fooled.

Numbskullery and douchebaggery.

I called GC.com (Connect with an Expert instantly!) to ask about it, and after telling them why it was not a '76 - and waiting on hold - the "expert" told me that it looked like somebody swapped the pickups, pickguard and tuners from a later one. I asked him if they swapped the headstock too. Told him to Google a natural finish '76, and finally, the light bulb went on and he said he was going to call Manhattan to find out what they were up to. I also mentioned that they were at least $2k high on the price, as well.
