I've been getting some really great reactions on this bass! Two ace players from The Netherlands tested the Brooks EB-PL Noir and wrote some cool quotes about it.

"Black is beautiful, but it sounds great too! 100% balanced sound in every position. With a nice growl to it, that makes it cut through. This bass is a love baby from Rickenbacker and Fender, trapped in a vintage Gibson body. A piece of art."
Ivo Severijns (ex- Herman Brood & his Wild Romance, ex -Kane, Waylon)

"I absolutely love it when old school meets new school! This bass has the looks and feel of a classic Gibson with the sound of a Telecaster bass on acid. It's simple yet very diverse. From a warm vintage sound to a killer modern rock growl... This monster has it all!"
Rob van der Loo (ex-Delain, Epica, MaYaN)

Thank you John.
I'll post it when it's really ready.
I hope to get it done by the end of the week.

I did not realize it was trans black. They are both such nice basses.

An 8 string Hammer like one would be cool.

Yesterday an old friend of Floor and me celebrated the release of a book he wrote about being in bands for 40 years.
He had asked me if I would like to play a couple of songs together with him (he's a drummer), my wife Floor and Leif de Leeuw, who's a talented young guitarist.
I hadn't seen a stage in more than three years. Haven't really missed playing in a band to be honest. But yesterday I picked up the bass again to perform.
Of course I took the opportunity to use one of my own builds. For the first time since I've been building them under the name Brooks I performed with a Brooks myself.
Han played the drums in the best Bonham / Kirke tradition. Groovy and rock steady. Floor sang like an angel and Leif played beautifully (that guy is one gifted kid).
And I survived .
I was over the moon to hear the compliments after the short gig. Some guys -who I hold in high esteem- told me the Brooks bass sounded great in the audience.
I'm a happy camper!
