Tom, the Shrinking Violet ... (gearHed289)

A Nomad being too shy to post this ...

"However, Nomadic's musical performance is unmistakable. Especially since the presence of an electric violinist can be regarded as still a rarity among Prog Rock bands (or of rock bands, period).

Nomadic's debut EP is titled "4" as it presents the first four tracks of the band. An album/CD is in the works, the four tracks will be side one, it says on Bandcamp.

Nomadic play song-oriented, melodic Prog Rock which will remind a lot of people of mid-period Rush (1982 onwards), Saga, Yes (in the 80ies) or Elephants of Scotland (Uwe's edit: Who the heck is that?). Yet Nomadic are more playful and rocking than Saga and a bit more poppy in their vocal leads than Rush ever wanted to be. It works well even without the rhythm section clamoring for virtuoso attention. Guitar- and violin-solos serve either as embellishments to the songs or as a counterpart on equal footing to the vocal parts, revealing very solid chops of the lead instrumentalists.

Apparently, the band doesn't want to be reduced to just heavy guitar and offers a rocky instrumental number in which the bass guitar takes a front role.

If there is more music coming from Nomadic in Chicago, then fans of the above-referenced bands can celebrate."

Pah, anybody can write that! We need sonic evidence, subito, front role bassist!!!

Tom's gone into hiding, this is all too much for him.

Thanks fellas. We have a really great producer/engineer working with us who is really into it. I'm just now working on a running order for a full length album. Need to record 6 more songs. We're already getting some really good shows booked, and the whole thing is going better than I would have expected. Having fun!
