Holy Moly

I like the song and the bass tone.

The bassist is none other than our old friend Jules of Fly Guitars (EvilLordJuju here). No idea what he's playing in the video but in their live videos he's usually playing a Hobbit.

Cool video, and not just because of the girls

Looks kind of like a Hofner President bass but never seen F holes like that?

Ok, on a second viewing the F holes look like Hofners.  I had paused the video on a frame with a shadow that cut off the tops of them.   So President or Senator maybe?

Höfner President.

The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

I think you're right.

Incidentally, he was tagged in a FB photo today with what looks like a Gretsch 6071. Ilan?

That is probably correct; the 6071, made from '68 to '72 with on pickup and mahogany red finish (gruhn). Not a lot of vintage Gretsch basses to confuse them with, but then again it might be a reissue of some kind - and them I have not the brains to keep track of!

I don't think so. The headstock is completely different.

That could be an Electromatic series headstock, I think. But it has the white-keyed banjo style tuners, which are not typical of Gretsch.

Oh, I think I misunderstood. You were no longer discussing the bass in the video.

Sorry. I'll shut up now  :-X ;)

Forgot to mention, I messaged Jules, he confirmed it was a President in the video, but he recorded it with his RD Artist.
