No reason he can't be mentioned, it's not a secret.

Here's the photo I mentioned that was recently shared on FB, the not-yet-Blue Boy being played by Kirkland with Bob Luman at the Louisiana Hayride. Note the date.

Looks like my response was posted at the same time as mc2NY's. Wish I had received the nice shot that he posted of the rediscovered Kirkland bass for use in the book. The vendor sent only a few shots of it sitting in the case, and that's all I had to use in the book.  :-\ Fortunately, I have photos of a couple of hundred more Rick basses to fill the pages, several from readers of this forum!
