Im so sad tonight. Bill was a true artist and gentleman. I never had the pleasure to meet him in in person. We met while bidding on the very reverse tbird he proudly displayed  as his moniker with the bondo etc. that is how I found this forum and I will be forever grateful. He was so appoligetic because he won the  bid for the bass we were bidding on. A true gentleman. Doc save me a spot so I can plug in andplay by your side.M

The man was rare, that's for sure.  Didn't know him very well, but that much was apparent.

Bill invited me to come here, and he was always cordial and helpful. His instrument building skills were clearly outstanding. I sincerely wish he had more years to pursue them.

I think it's a high compliment to say that he was one helluva nice and capable guy.

RIP Dr. Bassman. I always enjoyed his projects and the information he was willing to share. A true gentleman.

And Scott, I am very sorry for your loss as I know you two were good friends and enjoyed each others company.

I've lost two people this week... my oldest relative passed away at age 96... for her a blessing... and a musical comrade taken before his time...

This makes me imagine that Bill is still moderating the forum, just from a greater distance.

It's a very thoughtful gesture, and a fitting memorial.

Bill truly loved this forum and was passionate about bass. Even though most from the LBO may never have met him in person we did know him through his posts and online interactions. Bill thought of every one here as a friend.

Very nice touch leaving Bill on as a moderator - seems fitting somehow...

Nicely done, Dave.

Credit where credit is due. In the Outpost Cafe thread, lowend1 proposed renaming the forum in Bill's honor. I just followed through with his idea.
