The part that tweaks me is that the bass amps are Ampeg Micro VRs, which stand less than 3ft tall. The images are scaled up so they appear the same size as the Marshall stacks. It would have been just as easy to source images of a full-size SVT to use, since the proportions are about the same.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It's like... which way you wanna go? Giant sized mini amp?  ???

Except Neil Young really does have an actual huge ass amp he uses on stage....

It has a Magnatone name across it (my first amp ever) but it isn't a real Magnatone. It is some sort of huge cab that holds various speakers and horns that Neil routes his real amps thru.

Reminds me of the Big cab or something which Tecamp made or used to make. It's a cab with something like 2x15, 2x12 and 2x10 in one. Or even more..

And it sold like lead. Unsurprisingly. The days of behemoth bass rigs are largely over, that thing was like a Buick with tailfins coming out in the mid-seventies.

Neil Young's big amp used to be a Baldwin Exterminator. Big, heavy, solid state and with mixed-diameter drivers. Don't tell Talkbass!

It still exists, now finished off to look like a VR. As I recall, it was a pair of SVT power sections squeezed into a single box and driven by a single SVT preamp. I think they built a couple of them for the Monsters Of Rock tour back in the 80s, but were never used.
