Six years later I have eight Gibson basses.

Very impressive Daniel, wow, I was wondering how many you owned.

With each Gibson bass comes new sonic colors, every model is a new adventure.

If you don't post on the Pit any more I'll be glad to see you here,

Nothing against any other site but having to go to four different places to show off or post something new was a pain in arse. After a while you just did not do it and thus lost touch with people I considered friends or at least people who had great input and humorous opinions. Some people just disappeared entirely.

I missed the days of the latest Aussie Mark gaudy Shirt threads, trying to out bid or slag something from under Frankensteinburger (RIP) and Hippie Sandwich's latest $5,000 bass acquisition.

Now we can just stay here and not have to wander the internet to repost the same thing four times.

Also with no animosity toward anyone or any place. We always needed a real home anyway. The kids have grown up and moved out into their own house- OUR HOUSE!

Gibson Basses / Hello, I am A Gibson Bass addict......
« on: January 18, 2008, 12:08:53 PM »
Hello, I am a Gibson Bass addict and I'm not sure why, but since high school in the mid 70's, I bought my first bass, an alder Gibson grabber, which was fine till I traded in to order a new Gibson RD that just came out ( I still own) . I'm not sure why only Gibson, but it was re-enforced by an awful Guild B302 experience and never looked back.

Later I bought a Carvin 6 String which was nice but not great, a 6 string bass is just not like playing a 4 string, it's more methodical & finesse.

Then along came the internet, the Dude Pit and Gibson bass forums. Now I have 5 Gibson basses all of a sudden and still want more.

Yes, I am a confessed Gibsonhollic and I need help.....

Now confess your sins, acceptance is the first step, or was it anger or denial

Steve was gracious to us and really we all met because of Steve, because of that I can and wont ever have ill will toward him
Steve is trying to go on to the next level of forums, he's not there yet. I think it's a great idea if he can get it right.

I believe Steve is trying to build something that can make money on ( NOTHING wrong with that)

I think us old timers just want sameness. We all had such a great time in the early Pit, I don't think anyone has yet to replicate that experience till now.

I pretty much feel like we are all family, so everyone knows what to expect and we have a lot of new guys from Gibsonbass.com's forum.

I always thought that, like the Gibson Pit Cd, we are truly a multi-national group and not just an exclusive group other than our love of Gibson basses. When you think about it, I'm surprised it took this long to get our own site.

Dave & Uwe make it very clear what this place is about and people will stick to it, just like people have for the most part at Jule's site (which is our shrine of shine worship)- thou shall not worship false chrome pieces, though shall covet another's bass.

Reporting for duty!

I was hoping you would show up, the world just got a little more balanced. Now I can stop posting Pussy & Uranus threads!

I missed the days of Aussie Marks fashion choices-

Maybe we can have a walk off between the Marks?

Uranus is mostly made up of gas right?

Someone could have commented on Mercury, but no everyone wants to focus on Uranus
