A woman is suing Google because she walked into traffic and got hit by a car. It's all the fault of Google Maps.

Stories here and here.

Some folks are just stuck on stupid. And greedy.

Fight with student may wreck tow firm

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys, I'm sure.

Towing companies have an unpleasant job to do, and sometimes complaints against them are unjustified. But it looks like this company stepped way over the line, and not just in this case (an F- BBB rating). There's no way they'll win their suit against the student who's campaigning on Facebook, that's protected speech even if Michigan doesn't have an anti-SLAPP law, and he has the means to countersue. When you screw enough people, it comes back to bite you eventually.

This seems to be about 7 or 8 years old so some of you may have seen it before. I just came across it today: Squirrel From Hell

I suspect it's ever-so-slightly exaggerated.  ;)  Still fun.

Baked using coffin wood?

If it's true, I hope they remove the remains first.  :o

FYI, I've changed the maximum avatar size from 65x65 to 80x80. If your avatar pic is externally hosted, it's automatically resized, but if you uploaded it directly from your computer to the forum's server, you'll have to upload it again to get the larger size.

The Outpost Cafe / Name of the Year
« on: May 14, 2010, 11:53:57 AM »
I wasn't aware of this award until today, although it looks like it's been around for years. They're down to the "Elite Eight" and you can vote: Name of the Year

I'm rooting for Nohjay Nimpson. Or Charity Beaver.

Is it Satan?

She finds a piece of canned fruit with a face carved in it, she's given a $15 and then a $30 voucher, and that's not good enough?

Gibson Basses / Flooding at Gibson
« on: May 07, 2010, 03:53:50 PM »
From http://blogs.tennessean.com/tunein/2010/05/04/for-musical-nashville-flood-losses-are-still-untold/ (note: Gibson USA

At Gibson USA on Massman Drive and Soundcheck Nashville on Cowan St., the damage is enormous. Soundcheck is the biggest enclosed rehearsal studio in the world, and it houses instruments and tour sets. There’ll be no access at waterlogged Soundcheck until at least Thursday, and Gibson was off limits as of Tuesday afternoon.

“Water did get into the factory,” said Gibson USA general manager Gary Fader. “We have not had a chance to go into the building. There will be supply disruption for some amount of time.”

from http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/backstage/89107-gibson-flooded-2.html, a post by Henry J. himself:

Yes the Gibson Nashville Plant is flooded. There is some product lost and production will be delayed for at least 2 weeks. There was not the amount of product lost as suggested, but we will know more in several days.

We are optimistic about getting back to producing and making up the shortfall. We have truly great people here.

Custom division, Epiphone, Montana and several other divisions were not impacted.

Don't look in the garage  :o

I wonder how often something like this goes undetected.
