« on: March 24, 2014, 04:31:28 PM »
1978 Renaissance Lucite bass

This may be rare (never heard of the brand before) and it's not in Wish territory, but...

Pricey (imho) too ...

A couple of exotic instruments in the hands of a great bass player...

This one is a mystery as I thought the "Frankenstein" bass was a Fender-necked hybrid, but this one has a distinct "ThunderBird" headstock and "similar" pencil pups to the "Lightning" bass in the above video... is this a PC bass too...?

« on: February 01, 2014, 05:21:31 PM »
... and why not...

(for he who is somewhat over enthused) ;D

(especially for Al) ;)

(okay, lots of stuff recorded with a Ric)

That should kick us off...

Ilan, I expect you to be a prodigious supporter of this one, and as I've stated elsewhere, selfies welcome...

The Outpost Cafe / Has "life" finally started to catch up with Lemmy...?
« on: January 24, 2014, 10:03:53 AM »
Just had news that Motorhead have had to cancel their Euro tour rescheduled dates, so that's two tours cancelled back-to-back...

Lemmy has diabetes and a pacemaker now fitted, has reputedly stopped smoking, and trying to cut the spirits and soft drinks out by substituting it with two bottles of wine a day...

Lemmy's diabetes issues...

Manager on LK's pacemaker...

The Outpost Cafe / Where do the years go...?
« on: January 15, 2014, 03:45:44 PM »
They just seem to fly past so quickly... I had a rather lengthy drive today so listened to a lot of Planet Rock and heard the news (same old blues) that it would have been Ronnie Van Zant's 66th birthday today, so raising a JD in his memory... first track kind of sums up the band's life, and death...

The Outpost Cafe / Ice storms - USA weather reporting
« on: January 06, 2014, 04:48:52 PM »
Getting a lot of extreme weather reports over here... anyone affected...?

For us (living quite close to the Thames) it is exceptional rain that is getting us nervous... barely a frost here yet this winter... Thames barrier is going up at low-tide almost daily, which is not good news for London ...

The Outpost Cafe / Travel/health insurance question
« on: January 03, 2014, 04:50:22 PM »
We have a young gent from Fresno scheduled to be staying with us for a couple of months later this year and are enquiring on any recommendations on insurance for him whilst he stays with us...
I know the UK health service is pretty lapse for checks but it will be bad news if worst case scenario, etc...

Much obliged for any replies...

The Outpost Cafe / I am not a number, I'm a free man...!
« on: June 22, 2013, 04:41:51 PM »
I did a Johnny Paycheck on Friday... and boy... did it feel good...

The excrement has not fully hit the fan yet as I did it by stealth and I expect it to fully implode when I turn up on Monday, post a two week signed off sick (sick of the job) period, but the good news is that I'm scheduled to start my new job 22nd July...

My old lot will be well and truly left in the lurch but I've had to endure the last three months in a small section of hell post a harassment at work complaint... new manager was a total piece-of-work, but made the mistake of not being so smart on his targeting me... tried to get me on a disciplinary but I fired back with a grievance letter that ran to in excess of sixty pages of detailed complaints where he had cocked-up, BIG-TIME...

Turns out he had been harassing several others and some have supported me, including one person who was supposed to have made comments against me...

Now, how do the directors follow up on the fact that their manager has been caught out lying to such a degree that they do not know how to react...?

They hire an outside-of-company HR specialist, who again makes a significant cock-up, so all I do is tread water until I can take an exit-strategy which is what I have done, and they can burn...

One of my biggest chuckles is turning up at an interview and there was another of the companies engineers waiting for an interview too... we both agreed not to have seen each other... ;D

1/4 of the engineers are or have been off "sick" in the last month, more than once... I wonder why...?

Anyone else been put through the ringer recently...?

A lot of people died this day, 1944, in the name of freedom...

They have our undying respect and always will do...
