Gibson Basses / Re: Who makes Gibson's strings?
« on: August 18, 2020, 10:31:06 AM »
I  just opened the case to my 2013 EB to check the case candy.

There is a card with a photo of a Les Paul that says "Your guitar is equipped with genuine Cleartone Strings"...

For what it's worth.

On my EB 13 they said the stock strings were Cleartone, in the literature that came with the bass.

I have actually stopped using this bass due to the size/weight of the design...

Les Paul Jr bass and Fender Mustang are much more comfortable...

Bought an NS Design WAV Double Bass.  Been 35 to 40 years since I've played upright.  Building up hand strength and doing scales right now.

Having a lot of fun with it.

Gibson Basses / EPI T Bird Pro problem
« on: May 13, 2020, 06:00:55 AM »
ok

When I play the T Bird Pro, whenever the pre-amp compartment gets near my cell phone in my pocket, it makes a sound I'll call "motorboating" for lack of a better technical term. How would I stop this? Could be a deal-breaker with this bass, which otherwise plays beautifully.

Very impressive!  They are advanced players for their young age. The time and instruments feel spot on.

I bought a Butterscotch Blonde PJ Mustang bass from Chicago Music Exchange. Dying to hear it but...no gigs, nothing for at least a month probably.

Beshear in KY and Dewine in Ohio actually became leaders, and did mostly the right things.  You can disagree with their politics, but they did right by the people of their states. I'm working from home in KY...

My daughter lives in Madrid.

Scares the crap out of me right now...

yes.

The placement is closer to the bridge, though. Neck pickup on the EB tends to woof a little bit more (more sub-lows).
