I usually carry both the Les Paul and a Mustang to a gig.  I love them both.

I did replace the Les Paul pickup with a passive EMG T-Bird pickup.  It seems more assertive now (in the mix).

They were very warm sounding for early solid state amps.

They were very popular here in the 60's and 70's.

I still listen to Yes...a lot.  They are very creative, although some stuff works better than others.

Rush too...

When I hear people's bands on this site, it never ceases to amaze me...

Just really good stuff.

My PJ Mustang has, over time,  become my favorite bass. Somehow, it always feels "right" in the mix.

It's a very "pretty" and "musical" sounding electric bass.

Thanks for the clips.

I saw Chris play that bass years ago, and it sounded great....

I just bought the first Wishbone Ash album...used to have it on LP.

Been probably 45 years since I heard it.

What great playing, and what a wonderful bass sound....

I always liked the bass tone of the first two albums.

I like CD's also.

I love jazz.  When I was in music school I would scour the used record stores for music.  Now I can buy a box set of 4 to six CD's from Amazon for 12 bucks...it's a lot easier now to find music.

I hope I will still be able to find a new car with a CD player when the time comes.

I use string cutoffs for nut-work also...

It works.

Weird, cause I don't like the feel of rounds...sort of like fingernails and chalkboard.

LaBella low tension flats just feel good to me.

I have found that tone has to be very dark, and string height has to be higher than I like to play, in order for it to sound right. I pull the note with my index finger and middle finger, and do the slap with the index side of my palm.

It hurts, and I don't do it terribly well.  Sounds like crap on my WAV bass. Your mileage may vary.

I tried the pressurewounds.

I really liked them also.
