Uwe i think your childhood dream theory is probably on the money, legend has it that Whole Lotta Rosie and Mama Kin were the two songs G'n'R  jammed out when they first got together.

Axl is a dick, and can sound like a strangled cat when he doesn't get his particular screaming schitck hooked up properly, but when he's on form he does have an impressive range and power, someone on another forum suggested that he may make a better fist of the Bon Scott songs that Mr Johnson did. controversial, but we'll wait to see what the jury(audience) decides

So this is my final assessed performance for my college course, I still cant quite get my head round the fact that a rock gig can net me the equivalent of A-levels
I'm the guitarist on stage right who has the technical difficulties at the beginning I switched to guitar this term because the guy I get on best with at college is also a bass player so to be in a band with him I had to trade down

the second half of the set is better , Midlife Crisis anyone?

I'm always late to every party, by a decade:

I was a punk in the 80's, a goth in the 90's and a Raver in the 00s

so for me the 90's was all about NIN, Mariyn Manson, Killing Joke, local heroes Suede and of course the brief resurgence of the Sisters of Mercy

I always liked Chris Glen's bass playing and the way the rhythm section of him and Ted McKenna interacted (he was even better with Ted than with Cozy, Ted being the more bass-sympathetic player).

of all the musicians I have worked for Chris Glen is the only one I would consider a friend rather than just client, he is an absolute diamond of a bloke. I have him to thank for the majority of my success, if he hadn't taken me under his wing and introduced me to the rock world I would probably have spent my whole career doing visuals at raves.

I never got to see Chris play with Cozy, but him and Ted are boyhood friends, they are like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee when on the road and that closeness really shows when they play together

. What about fellow Aussie Jimmy Barnes?

Barnesy has health issues too I cant see him being well enough to tour.
I nearly met him once , he was supposed to come on and guest at one of SAHB's sydney shows, but he never showed up, when we got back to blighty we found out it was because he's had a heart attack that night

I have a box with 4? (maybe three) sets of new Hartke 34" BASS strings - rounds - that has been sitting for a couple of years.  If you can use them, PM me your address and I'll mail them to you for your charity unit.  If you only need guitar strings, no harm done.
That would be really great cos I rarely have bass strings donated , cheers man, have PMed you

thanks , silica gel is a great idea

i wish i had the luxory to just buy more, but  I coach music at a charity special needs unit, our string supply is dependant on the generosity of  backline guys I crew for at the local Arena, so I get a lot of packs already missing a top E, and the kids break them more often than any others resulting in me having a big box of bottom E to B strings and no top E's , so I had to spend some of my meagre budget on a bulk load of Top E's....

guess what was in my bag when the flask failed
