Ohh, he masked it well and ironically that eventually led to an early passing.

Well, chefs also like to tweak recipes just a little.

Thanks Dave! I use Firefox and this add-on will save me a lot of frustration.  :toast:

Gibson Basses / Re: anyone in need of a Moog board for RD Artist?

I'm also with you in that respect. The cut/boost eq just do what any of those 2 band preamps do. The "normal" setting is the meat and potato-setting that I use 95% of the time I play the RD. The compression/expansion and brightmodes are more for freaking out IMO. Gives you the feeling you have that secret little weapon engaged with the flick of a switch.

And of course the development over the past 40 years has provided us with smaller electronic devices. Just look at the smartphones. A megaload of functions in a tiny package. The RD with its huge Moog-board is a cool and for its time pioneering artefact (but nobody else caught on though  ;D ) kind of like any old odd car design.

The knobs are in a weird place...

...and there are two holes to plug in to.

The Overkill album is my favourite as well. The thing with the Eddie-era to me is that everyone had such huge characterics, playing style and soundwise. Obviously Lemmy had his voice and bass sound, but Eddie and Philthy were'nt far behind adding lots of character. Eddie never won any guitar polls and he was kind of a one trick pony. But nobody would be able to fill his shoes in Motörhead (not even such a great guitarplayer as Robbo). I'm a big fan of the later lineups as well. They made good songs and played well but to me the people replacing Eddie and Philthy could more or less have been any good guitarist or drummer.

Hi John, nice to see you're doing good. I've sometimes thought of you and I've seen hints that you're doing fine, just not so active here. Thanks for the update.

Agreed. Even more faked than relic work.

Yes, faked fake relic for faint hearted fake relic "artists".

This is the same bass but with free shipping. It could save you some money depending on shipping cost. For example shipping to Sweden is 205$ so I'd have to pay 1475$ in the top auction against paying 1350$ in the free shipping auction:

I've almost fallen in love with those guitars! The me there's something about the controls, pickups and hardware on the body (both proportions and placement) that ruins the esthetics of the body lines.

All the members of my favorite lineup of Motörhead gone now. RIP Eddie.

Yes, it would be strange if they did'nt differ. You'd want different roll off points for the eq between guitar and bass.

I don't need one fortunately, but if I did I'd probably pay that price. Considering what some of the generic onboard preamps cost I don't think that RD board is too expensive. That said I would expect a very narrow market for the seller though.

I bought a Fender AV '74 Jazz neck from that place in 2015 (that's how I remember when they had EB's). I have'nt anywhere seen the possibility to buy a neck with those specs anywhere (without buying a most of the time suspicious used real 70's neck) so from me that business gets a thumbs up.

I remember in 2015 they did part out some EB-basses.
