No I don't think they are Chinabuckers. Epiphone I believe reversed engineered these.

Just checked my cover on my Grabber,  it's way to long.

She's a beauty TD. I wish Bill could have seen these. I think  he would have been pleased.  Oh we were relentless with the Gibson reps.

Gibson Basses / Epiphone Vintage Pro mini review
« on: December 04, 2017, 02:20:18 PM »
My Vintage Pro arrived yesterday only to be greated with a raised eyebrow from the missus.
I am very impressed with this bass, it really sounds like a 60's Thunderbird! I'll write some more thoughts later but for now this will have to do.

My reproduction cover should fit,  I will double check with my Grabber when I get home tonight.

Congratulations!  These are great basses though often maligned. A few years ago I bought a '73-'75 EB3 and it's a beast!  One of my favorite EB3s ever!

I have always found Jazz basses to be anemic.  While I am not a big fan of TB plus pickups they are sure to give your Jazz a kick in the ass, I say go for it.

If I were to add another Grabber to the collection I would pop for a early burgundy one like played. No way would I spend 13k on a Grabber just because he played it a bit and signed it.

While not a Thunderbird that looks great! I love the extended scale on the upper register and the dead simale one pickup one volume layout.

The finish in real life is rather mundane.  A massive good sounding bass, certainly better than the 80's attempt.  Personally I would have liked to have seen it in a natural mahogany mahogany or cherry finish with a w/b/w pickguard.

   That is smok'n hot!

Doesn't matter,  I am being paid good money to play and people love it. For the last four years I was cleaning toilets at night so my family had health care. It literally almost killed me.  I am happy to  play just about anything,  who am I to judge someone's music taste?
