The Outpost Cafe / A Personal Request (if I may)
« on: March 19, 2018, 06:33:42 PM »
I know that you guys don't know this man from Adam
and at the risk of being redundant
(some of you may have already seen my post regarding this on Facebook and elsewhere),
but Chris Campbell performed with me as James Brown in our local tribute band, "Cold Sweat".

Well, I recently found out that Chris has cancer.

He also has a lovely wife Marti and two beautiful daughters, Nyadean and Fatima as well
and unfortunately, his medical issues have cause enormous hardship for the family of late.

This is why a friend of his started a crowdfunding site for Chris and his family-

https://www.youcaring.com/chriscampbellfamily-1014061#

It would mean a lot to me if you could share whatever you can spare to help Chris and his family with their mounting medical bills.

No donation is too small!

I thank you all in advance for even considering helping with this matter that is so near and dear to my heart
because Chris is a good man.

Aloha-
Gonzo

...and PS-

On a more personal note:
F%$K cancer.

He was also the original owner of SRV's "number one" Strat.

Uh, Christopher that is... not Ritchie.

I clicked on this expecting the thread to be about a former Dudepit member!
Me too, Mark.

BTW- I'd love to see the XP2.
I own three of them.
All passive.
All black.

...how weary the Dutch must get with people talking about windmills, wooden shoes, pot, prostitutes, and tulips.
Here it's grass shacks, hula skirts and a coconut/pineapple diet.
As if Gilligan were everyone's neighbor...

Thanks for the comments guys!

All the tracks I did for Jeff were recorded with my trusty workhorse Steinberger XP2
(we're coming up on 30 years togther and it's still my weapon of choice).
It's ran direct, using a George L cable, with old/boiled strings in drop D tuning.

...and yes, there's a bit of thumb on there Uwe.
 ;)

I was happy with the bass heavy mix and the tone.
It might have a lot to do with the fact that this CD was mastered by Steve Hall at Future Disc,
if that name rings any bells
and if it doesn't, check him out-
Steve's Bio
Steve's Discography!!!

He's my new hero.

I was pleasantly surpirised with the mix on these.

I believe this is the top ten playlist for that particular station Mark
but I know the CD is getting airplay elsewhere too.

It seems that a CD I did some tracks for here,
has apparently caught on over there-

To have a listen to "Forgotten Reef" for yourself
(along with other mp3s from the new CD "Portrait"),
you could visit Jeff's site-

http://jeffgaeth.com/

...and if you like what you hear,
maybe you could help us out by taking a second to cast your much appreciated vote?

Thanks in advance!

He retired out here a few years back.
Taught at Hilo Guitars and gigged occasionally in town.
A great bloke all around, with some cool stories to tell.
 :)

RIP Glenn.
