It looks great compared to the newly designed Flying V in my opinion, or is it the Star Trek logo?

Gibson Basses / Re: anyone in need of a Moog board for RD Artist?

I am guilty on committing heresy when my moog died, but i like the way it sounds.

Crappy picture but they are TV Jones Thunderblades.  No mods to the pickguard so it can be converted back if I ever get the board fixed.

Sounds like the Epi 5120,

I think the early versions had chrome pickup covers like the Univox.

I wondered what happened to that car.  It used to reside in the Imperial Palace Casino in Las Vegas but was sold off with the rest of the collection years ago after Ralph Engelstad passed away.   It's really beautiful car if you can look past who used to sit in the back seat,  well worth selling off a few gibson to pay for  8)

Not sure if it helps but I have the color G3 with the 3-piece flamed maple neck but mine has the more common maple board.  Average wear and I paid 700 for mine about a year ago but I think I got a good deal.  They dont seem to come up for sale all that often but I'm not sure I'd go too much more than a grand for it depending on the condition, maybe 1100-1200 tops?

If he gets that much for it mine will be for sale right behind it!

I hate buying new basses but I bit the bullet and pre-ordered one. Hopefully it lives up to my expectations.

Its nice to see someone finally recognize the musical genius of Rudy Sarzo's work. Usually people just focus on him touring for records he didn't play on and licking his bass.  ;D

Went through that a few years ago, the laptop never left my office.  My current company has taken the next leap and moved everything to "the cloud" (I hate that phrase).  Their rational is then we can be forced to access all files at any time no matter where we are.

But how do I put leather and studs on a cloud?

This has been posted before but thought it was worth a repost for singer Chuck Mosley - RIP

Color me intrigued,  ???  they may have a winner with this one.  Seems like a (somewhat at least) faithfull update of the Old RD Artist.   I look forward to hearing how it sounds.

Gibson Basses / Re: 3-Point Abuse

It's a good question, but I've never actually seen one it person but have seen it a few times come up on other forums. I recall one example where the back spine of the bridge actually cracked ope on the A and D strings as it pulled up.  It looks like in your picture there are actually washers placed under the ball ends that may cover this up.  I suppose it could just come down to thickness of the metal accross the bottom and back spine.  If you google 3 point Vantage bass you'll actually see some more expamples.
