Gibson Basses / Gibson Varitone Dial Plate

I did see that a forum poster by the name of "sniper" was making dial plates a few years ago ... He hasn't been here since October ... Hope he's doing ok.

Anyone else making these ...

Anyone have any experience with Gibson pots and Speed knobs from eBay (after market ... so to speak)?
I bought both (Gibson brand POTs and after market speed knobs from eBay) and they are really hard to press on.
