If you have any interest in the Doors this is a pretty good way to spend 20 minutes. I knew some of these names (as will you), but not all. It covers a bunch of other players who contributed to the band's recordings and later live performances.

Motley Crue would not exist without Mick Mars. Their financial backing and guidance/management came through Mick's connections, and his guitar playing (along with Tommy's drumming) is what made them musically interesting (it certainly wasn't Nikki's playing, even if he was a decent lyricist in that scene). Mick was also the coolest and nicest member of the band (not that that figured into them going anywhere, but it meant the world to at least two fans I know). Mick's being so much older than the others was a sticking point from the very beginning, but they couldn't dump him without dumping everything that came with him. He was far more integral to their initial success than most people outside the band ever knew.

I was way to young to be drafted, but old enough to know many who were and be worried that they could bring it back.

When the first Iraq war hit I remember sitting in my car and feeling grateful that I would be 26 soon, so even if they did restart the draft I would be aged out by the time they got to me. I had to explain all that to my recently turned 18 year old this year when I told him he'd need to send in his selective service card soon (which was untrue, he got a letter shortly thereafter letting him know they'd taken care of it and to update them if his contact info ever changes). No semblance of privacy from the "government" anymore, but I think I calmed his nerves a bit.
