Title: Replacement keys on Epi JC
Post by: copacetic on January 29, 2018, 12:20:18 PM
I want to replace the keys on my Epi Jack Casady (it is a proto type but all the hardware is the same as the JC Sig). Any body know which keys might just drop in? I’m looking to use lighter keys. I already have the replacement bridge for the 3 point, but I won’t open up that discussion up here.
Thanks

I don't know lightweight tuners that have the exact same footprint for the screws. But I really like Gotoh res-o-lite GB 528.

Makes sure you order the ones with the short shaft. I went wrong there. I still think I should replace the ones on mine because they protrude too far. It looks clumsy.

I've also come to like Schaller lightweights. I've been using them on the Brooks basses

But they require some drilling/routing for the footprint with the two pins that keep it in place.

Grover has very similar tuners to the Schaller ones too, by the way.

I used Hipshot HB6 - 1/2" Ultralites.
