Title: Mallory 4 Position Dial Switch Plate
Post by: Grog on November 19, 2017, 12:50:01 PM
I was just reading a post on the Gibson Forum, a guy is looking to reproduce Mallory Switch Plates due to how expensive they are if you do find an original. Sniper Dog had produced & was selling replicas back a while ago. He was having some health problems, a nasty leg infection if I remember correctly. It just dawned on me that it has been quite a while since he posted anything, at least that I've noticed. I wonder how he's doing?

Sniper last posted on 9/13/16 in the R.I.P Drbassman thread. He last logged in on 12/6/16. This was a couple of years after he was posting about his health issues. Hope he's okay.

I posted in the Gibson site about the replicas ... I tried contacting him a couple years back to no avail ... Hope he is doing OK.

Yes, I have made a "replica" ... expect to see a final product this week. Not trying to step on his toes ... just couldn't wait for him any longer.

Peace.

You're not stepping on his toes. He's obviously not actively selling them.

I did send him a PM Sunday night, no response yet.

Thanks Dave ... I'm not looking to sell either ...

But for those who are interested ... I have created a CAD drawing of the "plate".
Exact dimensions and text ... although I left the "Mallory U.S.A. 374" text off of the finished product.
The graphics company here in town just needed a "to scale" pdf file to cut it out of the sheet material.
The material reminded me of black on white pick guard material - 1/16th thick.

I am willing to freely share the CAD or the pdf file.
