Title: In case your WS 1987 is worse for wear ...
Post by: uwe on October 11, 2017, 12:25:38 PM
... there's a 30th Anniv. Ed. coming out, 4 CDs + DVD/Bluray with the album remastered, separately remixed, non-album tracks, outtakes/backing tracks and live stuff from the era.

From the daze when doing your hair took more time than doing the soundcheck & playing the gig!

One scene in that promo vid of course beckons the question with considerable insistence: Did they have to wipe the Jag before of after Tawny rolled over it? Just wondrin'.  :-X

That's tempting. I think I need to pass so I can save up for the new Kiss "vault" box set. For only $50,000 Gene will personally deliver it to you. This article calls him "The God of Thunder". Scott, have you got that trademarked yet?

But for that $50K The Demon hangs out at your house for a few hours, raids your refridgerater, uses your toilet and tries to sleep with your wife.  It's a bargain if you think about it.

At 1:07 is David peering into the back of the crowd because someone told him Sykes, Murray and Dunbar had crashed the video shoot and were coming after him?

All three are somehow conspicious through their absence!  Revisionism (still) at work.

That said, there is unfortunately not too much Neil Murray on 1987, Keith Olsen said in an interview decades later that most of what you hear on that album is synth bass (as was de rigeur at the time, just think of the "fretless bass" intro on Alannah Myles' Black Velvet which emanates from a keyboard too). Explains why the bass on 1987 sounds comparatively "cushiony" and indirect (which really isn't Murray's style at all).

I like the comment, "I'd like to have that back, Hugh (Syme), I did pay for it, darling..."
