I don't know.  What I do know is that both the Harrison and Hendrix Estates will keep doing whatever they can to rake in the dough.  I suppose the same could be said for a lot of other estates (most of which I don't keep up with.)

There was an earlier version, possibly MIM, and I believe there is/was a custom shop version, in addition to this new one.

George most likely would have liked this one due to its lighter weight.  Weight was an issue for him due to shoulder problems.

The original production run ended in 1972. Fender Japan reissued them in the 80's.

This one is made exactly like the prototype given to Harrison.

"Significantly, the rose Telecaster replicas feature pickups that were hand wound by famed Fender pickup master Abigail Ybarra, who broke her 2013 retirement to apply her expertise to this historic recreation’s pickups."

I'm surprised this is getting made now with all the commotion concerning exotic woods lately. Was the original Indian rosewood or Brazilian? If it was Brazilian, it would be hard to imagine them using the same species again.
