Title: Roger Glover with a Modern Player Tele bass?
Post by: ilan on March 21, 2016, 04:48:01 PM
Glover, 3 months ago, in a reunion of The Madisons - his high school band, and Episode Six, his first band with Ian Gillan. He's playing a Modern Player Tele, and there's a white (or MG) Ric 3001 in the backup stand.

Is that a Rickenbacker behind him on the stand?

That has to sound better than his Vigier basses.

I do find it ironic that he had that amazing tone in the '70s, but in his head he was craving that sterile, plinky Vigier tone.

Hopefully slightly more diplomatically than that!

"So Mr. Glover, some faceless goon on the Internet thinks that you probably got a better tone from a MIC Fender than your expensive Vigier basses, and implied that your '70s tone was much better than anything since. Thoughts?"

Sounds like a good opener for friendly conversation.
